Another lost ferret story

Post by Elizabeth H Boneste » Mon, 24 Mar 1997 04:00:00

Well, last night, Monk and Hester discovered a hole in the back of
one of our kitchen cabinets.  I was in the cabinet for something and
they dashed in, and by the time I went in after them they had
disappeared behind a panel in the back.  Hester came out on her own,
eventually, blinking at me and wondering what all the fuss is about;
but Monk has yet to show up, and it's been almost 12 hours.  (He's
never been out that long before.)

I checked the floor underneath us, and the hole doesn't seem to
exit outside our apartment...but I'm afraid he's lost or stuck
or actually managed to get out of the building somehow.  I am,
needless to say, frantic.

Not asking for advice, I guess, although I'll take it if anybody
has some.  I've put food and water by the entrance to the hole,
and I'm playing a radio in case he's lost his bearings.  But if
anybody's been through this before, I'd love to hear, especially
if there's a happy ending involved.

Liz

P.S.  The hole is big enough that my CATS can get in there.

Charlie pulled this move on me for about 2 hrs.  Try sitting by the hole
maybe shaking something that makes noises he knows and calling his name.
Also board that sucker up as soon as you find Monk.

It worked for Charlie, however the same day he snuck into the dishwasher
while I was distracted and needless to say, I am heartbroken.

Good Luck

Michael

Our ferret Missy likes to open the cabinet under the sink and go down
the opening around the drain.  There isn't anywhere to go there, but she
seems to think it is "cute" to do.  While in the process of getting her out
the last couple of times, we put ferretone on our fingers and stuck them
into the hole.  Her head pops up and takes a*** and then we trail our
finger away from the hole and she follows....Hope this helps.  I know that
I would be frantic if I thought Missy was in any kind of danger.  I am sure
you will find him soon.......

Kelly.
