DOG PARK

OH, BTW, I FORGOT TO REPORT THAT I SPENT THE SUMMER/FALL/WINTER
VOLUTEERING IN MY TOWNSHIP TO RAISE FUNDS FOR US TO HAVE A DOG PARK.

WE HAVE 9 PARKS WITHIN MY TOWNSHIP...ONLY ONE ALLOWS DOGS...SO A BUNCH
OF RESIDENTS GOT TOGETHER TO HAVE THE TOWNSHIP FATHERS ACCEPT CHANGING
THAT ONE PARK TO A "DOG PARK."

WITHIN ONLY 6 MONTHS, WE RAISED ENOUGH FUNDS, TOOK IT TO THE BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS AND THEY NOT ONLY HAVE ACCEPTED IT, BUT WILL MATCH OUR
FUNDS, SO IT WILL REALLY BE LANDSCAPED, FENCED, BENCHES, ETC. THIS
COMING SUMMER!

MEANWHILE, THIS WAS DONE WITH ONLY A HANDFULL OF PEOPLE...AS ANY
COMMITTEE SEEMS TO BE...THERE WERE ONLY 12 ACTIVE MEMBERS...BUT, WE WENT
ABOUT GUNG-HO AND EARNED THE MONEY.

IT'LL BE DIVIDED INTO 2 SECTIONS...ONE FOR SMALL DOGS AND ONE FOR LARGE
ONES.  PEOPLE CAN LET THEIR DOGS GO OFF LEAD AND ROMP AND PLAY WITH
OTHERS.  IT'S A FEATHER IN OUR TOWNSHIP'S CAP BECAUSE THERE ARE VERY FEW
SITES LIKE THIS AROUND.  LOCALLY, WE ONLY KNOW OF 2...SINCE WE STARTED,
MANY OTHER SURROUNDING TOWNSHIPS ARE WANTING TO DO IT TOO.

I HAVE NO NEED TO TAKE MILLIE THERE, BUT FELT THAT I SHOULD WORK TO HELP
FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO USE IT...ESPECIALLY PEOPLE IN APARTMENTS,
TOWNHOUSES, ETC. WHO DON'T HAVE AN AREA WHERE THE DOGS CAN GET GOOD
EXERCISE.
