black widow questions

Hi all...I don't own any spiders...but am writing a little creative
piece about the black widow....hoping one of u can answer a
question...I've read some black widow males live after they mate w/the
female, and that sometimes the female brings him flies to dine
on....is this true? thanks

Do you mean the genuine, or the female Black widow, I have recently dealt

What do the numbers mean when next to reptiles?

I have 1.3.0 Leopard Geckos, a total of 4

1=Males.2=Female 0=unkown sex  M.F.U

                                -Reptiles-
Green Iguana's   1.1.0       Leopard Gecko's 1.3.0
Bearded Dragon 1.1.0     N. American Pine Snake 1.0.0
Frog eyed Geckos 0.4.0  African Rock Python snake 0.1.0

                            -Spiders!-
Chilean Rose Tarantulas    1.2.0

                              -Cockroaches-
Madagascan Hissing  3.10.100?         Cuban 0.0.20

                                 -Misc.-
8 Zaire Millipedes 0.0.4
2 Giant African Land Snails and Arthur the dog!!

According to _Biology of Spiders_ by Rainer Foelix, these statements
are essentially true.  (Thanks to Paul Skelcher for recommending this
excellent book.)   On p. 199, for example, we read:

    The infamous black widow (Latrodectus mactans) does have a
    bad reputation, but -- quite contrary to popular belief --
    the male usually withdraws unharmed (Kaston, 1970; Ross and
    Smith, 1979).  In some Latrodectus species the males live
    for several weeks in the female's web and may even feed on
    her prey (McCrone and Levi, 1964; Anava and Lubin, 1993).
