Jenn - it can take months, if ot years, for budgies to accept nonseed
foods.  Our keet would only eat veggies, pellets, etc. if in someone
else's cages (and then she couldn't get enough).. Now , at age 7, she's
eating her own veggies, but still eating everyone else's, but will still
only eat pellets in someone else's cage.  She has started to fly to my
plate and eat food off my plate - when you talk about budgies, you are
talking patience on a whole new scale.  However, I don't think two many
birds like bananas, so that may be a pointless waste of fruit.  All my
birds have favorites, including bell peppers (especially the seeds),
carrots, wheat grass, bean sprouts, and brocoli.

Good luck.

Our budgie, Frankie, doesn't seem to want to eat his fruits or
vegetables. I've offered him a variety to see what he likes. He's
tried: Grapes, Banana, Orange, Apple, Celery leaves, Lettuce,
Broccoli, Carrots and Tomato! Yet he's turned his nose up at them
all! Anyone have any advice on how to entice him or have any other
foods that their budgies like? He eats his seed, seed treat, bell,
honey stick, and millet voraciously. I know it's important for them to have
fruits and veggies too, though. We've had him for about 2 weeks,
and already he perches on our fingers, and happily flies around.
Also, is it ok for them to have toy mirrors in their cage? He doesn't have
any yet, but we want to give him more exciting toys. :->
