Wanted: Blue-headed Pionus

Post by Linda Grav » Fri, 05 May 1995 04:00:00

I've finally decided to add to my small "flock" (which consists of a 3 year
old***atiel and a 2 1/2 year old Dusky Conure).  After much research I've
decided on a blue-headed Pionus and can't seem to find them in Indiana! Anyone
have any babies in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois?  I'm looking for a baby
that's down to about 2 feedings a day and spoon fed. I'm not sure about this
"shipping" a baby bird - seems like that would be pretty traumatic!

Any leads would be appreciated!  Thanks,

Linda Graves

Great choice, Linda! I adore Pionus, and highly recommend them
as companions! To find a reputable breeder, I would suggest
contacting Diana Holloway, who is a VERY reputable, long-time
breeder in OHIO who knows all the great breeders in Ohio and
most of Indiana. If you wish to contact her, email me and I will
give you her phone number.

Clara Kischkel breeds blueheaded pionus in Chicago.  I believe that she is
listed.  She is a devoted aviculturalist and has very nice babies.  I
believe that she is listed.  Post here agian if you can't find her number
and I will find it for you.   Pj
