Dan is right on the money with his answer. I wanted to add that you might
want to consider joining the following mail list which are devoted to
African Greys
1. CAGTAG
2. The Grey Connection
There are many knowledgeable people on these lists and a wealth of
information.

i just got an african grey, she's really sweat but really quiet. i took
her to the vet for a purchase exam and he said she was in great shape.
i was just wondering if her being sso quiet is any indicator to how
much she will be willing to learn to talk......
not that it matters that much just wondering.
oh yeah she's 5 months old and just kinda clucks (closest thing i can
describe her vocalization as) really quiet like.

Joey,
This is a new arrival so this is quite normal. Give her some time to get
used to her surroundings. By the way, you are to be commended for doing the
vet check.

Hi Alisa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where have you been???
It's GREAT to hear from you ... *and* all your new budgie babies (still
admire the heck out of you for what you did for those babies ... sorry
to hear you lost a couple).
Anyway, Rudy and Gomez are doing GREAT! I don't know if you ever talk
to Mark Donovan or not but if you do, let him know there as ornery,
mischevious, cuddly, healthier and more beautiful than ever!! We built
new cages for them 6' x 5' x 6'. They have TONS of room and trees to
play around on.
Bad news about my new TAG Gus! I though Greys were supposed to be quiet
birds! He is so far, let's hope it stays that way!
So keep posting here okay? It's so gooooood to hear from you!
