Am I tamming right?

Post by Fing » Sat, 12 Aug 1995 04:00:00

I bought a hatchling two months ago (how old is a hatchling
anyway?). I've been handling him everyday since I got him. I used
to do it three times a day, now I'm down to once or twice. Unless
I get him groggy in the morning, or I'm very quick on a sneak
attack, catching him is the hard part. He barely struggles once I
get him, he just looks around or sometimes shuts his eyes. He'll
even eat out of my hand.

Does tamming mean he's comfortable being caught or being held?
Is 1-2 times a day enough?

Please download my ig care and socialization doc from the AOL Rep & Amphib
library.  It sounds like your ig may be kept too cool or is sick, hence
the very quiet behavior once you get him.  It takes 9+ months of intensive
work to tame a healthy one...
