Did anyone catch the new episode with the take off on "Barney"?

First of all let me state that "Barney" is so sweet and cute
I could just vomit >:->
^ (Devil smiley for the humor impaired)

                  B U T !

This is yet another example of mass media bashing reptiles!

When are they going to get it through there head that people
LIKE reptiles?

(Or maybe at least tolerate them in the case of Barney :-7)

I can also remember a line ButtHead once used:
"I like blowing up lizards!"

Now don't tell me it's just a cartoon!
Kids watch cartoons and kids grow up!
(Yea yea call me a kid for watching Beavis & ButtHead I won't deny it)
(However don't ask me to ever watch it again)

Seeing stuff like this on TV doesn't make it any easier to get rid of
things like the Texas's Rattle Snake Roundup.

Well, not to be a nit picker, but most paleontologists today
have accepted that Barneys are not cold ***ed like most purple
reptiles.  They are believed to be active and hot ***ed,
more like purple avians.

Sincerely, yeah.

Oooooo ... Iv'e been through that little argument once before on
the net and I refuse to go through it again!

The last time it came down to: It's just a theory!

Anyway you missed the point of the post entirely!
The point is the media seems to revel in bashing anything even
remotely related to reptiles!

Oh come on! lighten up!
You're asking "Beavis and Butthead" to be politically correct?
Give me a break!
I know you asked me not to, but IT'S JUST A CARTOON!

On another episode, I saw them buy what looked like a bearded
dragon with the old guy's credit card, along with a snake,
(green with yellow spots), a bunch of parrots, a turtle and a
weiner dog.

I actually like B&B!

As a shooter, gun collector, hunter, and member of the NRA just let me say:
Welcome to the club! But I will admit that I get a bigger rise out of people when
I tell them I have a python at home than when I tell them I have a (gasp!)
semi-automatic.

days or mine, which ever ends first.

I would be very curious to know how many people on this fairly liberal,
and very humorless net, understand this statement.

     I get it, and I give it 1000 :-)'s

Are you claiming that the Python is semi-automatic?  I thought they were
double-action revolvers...

I'll tell you straight - I have no clue.  I don't even know who was
president in 1911.  The only thing I know about 1911 is that my great
grandmother was 11 years old.  (I'm having fun in college evading
history classes - not because I don't like it but because I'm really
really bad at it and at this point I'm SO far behind that I would
never ever know what the professor was talking about.)

Not that I'm bragging about this or that I'm happy about this or
anything, you understand.  I just like to be up front with people.

Lemme see... 1911

The year Mongolian autonomy was proclaimed in Ulan Bator...

The year Roald Admundsen became the first man to reach the south
pole...

The year Ernest Rutherford proposed his nuclear model of the atom...

The year four firms merged to become the Computing-Tabulating-Recording
Corporation, which in 1924 became International Business Machines
Corporation (I'm typing this on a Mac, though)...

The year of the death of Theodor Escherisch, whose namesake, E. coli
lives on happily in our intestines...

The year Casimir Funk isolated thiamine (what a groovy name)...

The year of the death of Augustin Mouchot, inventor of several solar
powered steam engines (U.S. Solar energy research, incidentally, had
its funding virtually eliminated by the administration who took charge
in 1980)...

The year that complete bastard who tear-gassed peaceful students at
Berkeley and later went on to become the worst president of the U.S.
was born...

1911 could have been a much better year with just one ***.

Okay, I guess me, the humorless guy that Don Baldwin seems to like
flaming will have to explain his reference to 1911 being a very good
year.

In 1911, John Moses Browning invented the Model 1911 .45 Caliber
Automatic Colt Pistol AKA "Government Model".  The 1911, as it is
called by those of us who love it, is arguable the best pistol ever
made, and certainly set the standard for semiautomatic pistols from
that point on.

So there.  What this has to do with herps is beyond me, except that on
several occassions I have had my 1911***ed by an iguana.

Hint: it was John Brownings greatest (some would say) effort.
