An alligator snapping turtle -- 4 ft long and weighing 100 pounds
-- was caught this past Thursday in an artificial lake in southern
California. Illegal in this state because of the danger they pose
to native fauna, "Old Bob" will be relocated to a east coast
preserve. He is thought to have been dumped into the lake by a
disillusioned owner as long as 50 years ago. Sightings were
reported in the 1970s.
