New Tarantula Owner

Hi all!

I've just been thrown into the world of T's by adopting a neglected
tarantula.  My wife and I have been doing a lot of research, but I'm not
finding all the answers I need.

Firstly, I don't know what kind it is!  I don't want to attach a photo here,
but I would be happy to email it to anyone who could possibly identify it.

I want to give it a proper home and everything he/she needs, so any and all
information is welcomed.  Please help!

It was given to us in a 20 gallon aquarium with about an inch of sand on the
bottom, a water dish, a wood stick thing, and a hollow log.  I've added a
cardboard shelter for now.

I'm pretty sure I need to determine it's type before doing anything else...
I want to give it the proper substrate, etc.

Thank you in advance for anything you may be able to tell us.

www.petbugs.com has pictures and caresheets.  the tarantula i rescued was in
a small critter keeper with fish gravel and a small shell dish and a small
half log shelter that he couldnt even fit under.  the girl claimed it tried
to attack her but this guy is the calmest rose hair ive ever met.  i moved
him upto a 5.5 gallon tank with black sand and a bigger half log shelter and
a big piece of choya wood to climb on and his shell dish of water.
