Green Anole - Eye Problem

Post by Wall $tre » Sun, 05 May 1996 04:00:00

We have 3 green anoles - 2 males and 1 female. They all seem quite healthy and
stay green and content most of the time, however 1 of the males (the smaller
one) seems to have some type of eye problem. His eye has become swollen and
almost completely shut. I have noticed some marks around his head which I am
assuming is from fighting with the larger male (we often see them sacking at
each other early in the morning). Is there anything I should do for his eye?
His other eye looks fine and he still appears healthy otherwise.

Any help is appreciated!

You should take your anole to a herp vet.  It sounds as though the eye
may be injured or infected.  If you don't have one, you can email

also consider separating the two male anoles.
