About 3 wks ago my cat began to vomit up what appears to be large quanities
of undigested food.

Could he be overeating?

Any suggestions appreciated

My cat started doing that four months ago when I got engaged and he got
a brother. He was wolfing his food down to try to get it first, couldn't
digest it all, and threw it back up. He will also occasionally do it
when nervous. You may want to place a phone call to your vet. Generally,
that kind of advice a good vet will give you over the phone. You don't
see any hairballs in the food, do you? Alex also sometimes starts
throwing up his food when he's actually trying to cough up a hairball
right after he eats. There may or may not be a hairball in it, but most
of the time if he throws up, that's why. If that's the case (I'm pretty
sure you would know this anyway) buy some Petromalt and follow the
dosing instructions. I usually put it on his front paws and he***s it
off. This is a prime time of year for hairballs with all the shedding.

Hope it helps ;)

Briana used to do this all the time; she still does, on stressful
occasions.

One cause the vet gave us was that she would get anxious, and cram as
much dry food down her greedy gullet as she could.  The food would then
expand, pushing on her stomach walls, and up it would come.

The other theory is that she gets stressed out and pukes -- just like some

humans do.  If we've been away too much, or if there's been loud noises
or strangers charging through the place she's twice as likely to do it.

There are a few things that need to be known first
Do you feed your cat once a day?
If so the cat might be binging on the food and that causes one of mine
to throw up also
Another thing may be that you have more than one in the house and that
causes the same thing
We have three furrballs and they get all the dry food they want and once
a day get a bit of wet food and that is wen the problem most shows up in
our house from Pinstripe

Hope this helps. It is only my opion and should never take place of a
vet's If this continues then you should consult your vet as this might
be more serous that you may think
