This is a bit off topic but here goes.  A lady at the office complex who
watches us feed the feral colonies was notified last night not to bother coming
to work on Tuesday. The company is shutting down. Her and one other employee
are jobless. No severance pay. No advance notice. She has been there for 7
years.  She was vital in helping us to eliminate most of the dog packs which
were harming the cats. She also left out feed pellets for the ferals before
going home at night.  She will be missed.  There will be no friendly face
waving to us at sunrise.

Maybe she'll still come around and still help out with the cats.

Actually, we have lost about 6 pro-cat companies at the office complex over the
past year.  There are no longer any bowls of feed pellets in front of any of
the doors.  The remainder of the offices are either oblivious, indifferent, or
anti-cat.  In particular, there is an engineer who, I suspect, called animal
control to remove DumDum, an ancient cat who enjoyed sunning herself in front
of his office.  Also, he has tossed out our feeding bowls about 4x now.

The only one who will miss the feed pellets this lady used to put out will be
Floomy- tail (Fluffy + Plume=Floomy), a long haired orange male who is the sole
survivor of his colony.
