Excessive Licking Problem...

Post by Susan & Ric » Tue, 24 Nov 1998 04:00:00

We have a three month old female kitten that started***ing her bottom
and underside of her tail excessively yesterday.  By this morning, she
had***ed a spot raw (to hairless).  We took her to the vet and he
found nothing wrong / no reason for the problem (she is using the
litterbox fine, not straining, no fleas, no worms, no changes that would
indicate allergies).  He gave her an antibiotic/anti-inflammatory shot
and some follow-up and said it should get better in a few days (if not
to call back).  Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any
recommendations for avoiding it in the future?  Thanks

Could be that she is on heat already:-)
Mine was at 4 months, had her spayed right after the cycle was over,
funny the vet did not mention this, ask him and don't wait too long to
have her done, also a companion would be nice, I never had an only cat!
