Hi everyone!  Thought I'd give you an update on how Mr. Paisley is
doing.  Thanks for all of your help with him!  He's the feral cat I
adopted and took to the vet last week to get neutered, get his shots and
have an abscess on his ear treated.
He's now shut in my bathroom and master bedroom.  The other cats are in
the rest of the house.  Thanks to whoever of you suggested I try to have
him sleep with me on my bed.  He was happy and contented last night -
the first in a week since I put him inside.  He slept the whole night
next to me and started purring every time I pet him.

The only problem with this is that I had to keep my other 2 cats and the
dog out of the bedroom.  They normally sleep with me too - off and on.
They all seemed to tolerate this situation ok and I even brought the dog
in this morning when she was scratching on the door to see how Mr.
Paisley would do.  He did ok - slept on one side of the bed with me and
the dog slept on the other side.

His ear is healing really well now.  I think I'm going to give him the
option of being an indoor cat at night and outdoor or indoor during the
day like my cats.  Hopefully he will cooperate with this plan and
hopefully my other 2 cats will learn to accept him and vice versa.

Congratulations! It sounds like Mr. Paisley is going to fit right in.
Eventually. :o)

You are welcome.  Eventually they will be able to all sleep with you again.
It will take some fussing at first, but they will pick locations around the
room and on the bed that will be 'staked out' for each cat.  Glad to hear
things are going well.  Keep us posted.  Jacque Brown
