Kinda sad, but kinda nice

Post by HRFLTig » Fri, 31 Jan 2003 22:48:10

A friend of mine stopped by this morning, and told me that her mums
fur baby, a cat that she had had from a tiny kitten, had died.

Apparently, Callie, the little cat in question had been ill with
kidney problems for a while, and had been taking meds to try and help.
On Sunday she had a wonderful day, she stole bits of beef from her
humans plates, bathed in the sun and was full of life and joy. On
sunday evening she curled up in her basket in the prime spot by the
fire, and fell asleep being gently scritched by her mum. On Monday
morning she was still in the same position in her basket, but had gone
to Rainbow Bridge, passing in her sleep gently and quietly. She was
19. Although it is sad, I can only hope that when my furbabies go they
will have lived an equally long and happy life, and go equally as
peacefully.

Oh my. That they could all go so gently and at such an age. Many purrs to
your friend and her mum.

Definitely the best way to go. I hope all my cats have such a peaceful end,
but not until they are about 35!

ah...what a wonderful way to go. Lived a long, happy, loved life and died
peacefully in her sleep after a lovely day with the family.
May her journey to the RB be as peaceful.

Awww. We shall light a candle for Callie and send purrs, prayers and
gentle headbutts to your friend.  Please let her know that we are
thinking of her.

Even older than that!  I am 30 now.  I figure I can expect to live to be
about 75, so that's another 45 years.  Vino is almost 5 already, so he
needs to get to be about 50 when he dies!  <sigh>  I wish, I wish, I
wish ;-)
