good for Sadie, glad you found her before you had time to worry too
A week or two ago my crew decided to throw me a curve. Both Little Bit
and Sammy will sometimes dart out the door (never going much further
than by the patio, where they wait for me to collect them and carry
them back inside. On this occasion, I had my arms full of an old
microwave I was giving to a co-worker, so I just kicked the door
closed as I went out to carry it to the car. Well, my kick didn't
close the door, and when I came back from the parking lot both Sam and
LB were outside. I carried them in, and as I was closing the door I
saw Spotty sitting on the neighbor's patio. I went and collected her,
and when I came in I was one cat short - Princess had gone out and was
sitting on the stairs. Furby was the only one who didn't go out - she
was sitting in the bedroom window watching as I chased down and
brought the others inside. In the past I could leave the door open and
both Princess and Spotty would just sit in the open door and look out.
I don't know what made that day special, but I'm back to counting cats
every time I come in to make sure no one is out.
