Piglet has returned

Post by Granb » Thu, 14 May 2009 12:20:04

I went out the front door about three hours ago and so did Sadie.  Piglet
must have followed us.  It is dark now and I have heard a cat crying for the
last hour.  Sadie and I have run this house over looking for the cat.

I went into the garage and climbed places where I shouldn't have and no cat.

She was sitting on the outside window sill, scratching the glass to get in.
Sadie finally saw her and went to the window.  When I went out, she
literally jumped in my arms.  Sadie gets two treats tonight.  Piglet has
NEVER gone out before.

In the middle of all of this, came the thread about suicide and I was upset
from that and then to discover the cross eyed Piglet was missing really
makes me want to turn up the stereo and drive the silence out.

I didn't know she was out either until she jumped on me,  Almost gave me a
heart but, would have worse had I known she was out.  She always disappears
from about six until I go to bed.  I wasn't concerned because she hadn't
shown up.

I'm glad she came back before you realised she was Out.

So am I.  Would have called the son to come help as I would have been afraid
I wouldn't be able to see her.  I am worn out now and ready for bed.  Finish
my glass of wine and call it a day.

good for Sadie, glad you found her before you had time to worry too
much

A week or two ago my crew decided to throw me a curve. Both Little Bit
and Sammy will sometimes dart out the door (never going much further
than by the patio, where they wait for me to collect them and carry
them back inside. On this occasion, I had my arms full of an old
microwave I was giving to a co-worker, so I just kicked the door
closed as I went out to carry it to the car. Well, my kick didn't
close the door, and when I came back from the parking lot both Sam and
LB were outside. I carried them in, and as I was closing the door I
saw Spotty sitting on the neighbor's patio. I went and collected her,
and when I came in I was one cat short - Princess had gone out and was
sitting on the stairs. Furby was the only one who didn't go out - she
was sitting in the bedroom window watching as I chased down and
brought the others inside. In the past I could leave the door open and
both Princess and Spotty would just sit in the open door and look out.
I don't know what made that day special, but I'm back to counting cats
every time I come in to make sure no one is out.
