This seems like a very odd place to post this.

Well, people who like cats may like parrots, as well.  Is there a
correct place for posting parrot for sale notices?  I think most parrots
can defend themselves against cats from what I've seen.

Yes indeed!  You reminded me of a really funny thing that happened to us
in 1978.  My wife (girlfriend then) and I got home late one afternoon from
work, walked in the house and heard a voice coming from the laundry.  The
laundry window was always left open so that Fran's two cats, Pasha and
Cinnamon, could come and go as they chose.  There, standing in the corner
under the window, was a budgerigar.  Sitting several feet away and watching
and listening to it were the two cats.  The budgerigar had been trained to
speak, and it was displaying its full vocabulary to the cats!  They were
quite bemused by a 'human' voice coming from a bird, which is apparently
why they had not atacked it.  We never did find the owner, and the bird
lived with us until it died of old age.  The cats always treated it as just
another member of the family.
