Need Help-Vomitting Cat

Post by Sam » Thu, 09 Apr 1998 04:00:00

I need help with my cat. For the past 2 weeks she ends up
vomitting her food 15-30 minutes after she has finished eating.
It started happening occaisionally (every 3-4 days) but now she has
been vomitting her food for three days straight. She has a healthy
appetite and there is no cat hair in the vomit. She eats Iams Lamb and
Rice formula. Do you know what could be wrong with my cat? Any help
is really appreciated.

If you reply take the "NoSpam" out of my e-mail address or use the

Hi, Sam:

What does your vet have to say about this?  Vomiting can be a sign of any
number of things, from the not-so-serious (food allergy) to the serious
(kidney disease).  She needs to see your vet for an exam.  Your cat may also
be in danger of dehydration.

Kaluha has had this problem before with Science Diet and with a couple of the
Iams products.   I suspect an alergy to one or more of the ingredients.
Several years ago she couldn't keep Science Diet down and I had to find
something else for her to eat.   She used to munch the Iams Lamb and Rice right
down but now won't eat it or horks it up shortly after eating it, same for the
Chicken formula.    She eats the Beef formula and sometimes the Catfish formula
without problems.

Sam, you really need to take your cat to the vet if she's ill, rather
than trust the opinions of amateurs in newsgroups.  Some offer valid and
valuable 'opinion', but far too many are far too keen to present an
amateur diagnosis (yes, I'm taking about YOU, Odette) for any problem
you may have with your cat and expect you to accept it as fact.  I hope
your cat gets better.
